Overview

 

Pyxis 5.1.1 is improved and enhanced of previous versions.

In Pyxis 5.1.1 added:

  • Minor bugs fixed.
  • Google Assistant support (lights, switches, outlets, thermostats).
  • Enhanced KNX driver.
  • New FREE mode! In FREE mode Pyxis will work with 5 accessories without time limitations.
  • Added support of Xiaomi Mi Yeelight devices: Yeelight LED Smart Bulb 8W/E27 (YLDP01L), Yeelight LED Smart Bulb 9W/E27 (YLDP02L), Yeelight Smart LED Ceiling Light (YLXD01YL), Yeelight LED Ceiling Light 450 (YLXD04YL).
  • Added support of new Zigbee Xiaomi device: Occupancy Sensor (RTCGQ11LM).

 

Setup of HDL Buspro
Setup of HDL Buspro same as for version 5.1.0. There is only one difference – RESTART button moved to start page of Settings section. Please, proceed to Setup of HDL buspro version 5.1.0.
Setup of KNX
Setup of KNX same as for version 5.1.0. There is only one difference – RESTART button moved to start page of Settings section. Please, proceed to Setup of KNX version 5.1.0.
Setup of Xiaomi Mi Home

After turning on Raspberry Pi with Pyxis 5.1.1, please type in web browser http://pyxis.local  or IP address of Pyxis.

You will get web interface. It has same look as a Pyxis App for Android. You can make same setups in Pyxis App for Android too:

In the bottom, you can find 3 buttons: Scenes, Rooms, Settings.

For setup configuration, click on Settings button. You will see settings page. Enter login and password (admin and admin) and push green button “1.LOAD SETTINGS”. You will see notification on the bottom “Config upload successfully”, otherwise you will see notification “Error in upload config”. In case of “Error in upload config” check “IP address to load settings” or “Login” and “Password”. If upload was successful, push on red button “2.SETUP”. If you use IP address for entering to web interface, do not forget fill IP address instead pyxis.local. Using grey button “3. BACKUP SETTINGS”, you can save settings in file or restore Pyxis configuration from it.

 

Then you will see Settings page. On this page you can find:

  • control buttons on the top (cancel, save, restart, shutdown and expand SD)
  • HWID
  • Raspberry Pi IP address
  • License status (PRO or FREE)
  • Links to our web resources (green pointer in top right)
  • settings sections
  • update section

Setup menu

1.  Setup license mode

In this section, you can paste license key. After changing settings, do not forget click on “Save” button in the right top.

2. Choose technologies

Clicking on this section, you will get menu for choosing technologies. Please turn off unused technologies, to get more CPU perfomance. Then click on “Save” button in the right top. After restarting, unused technologies, will be disabled automatically.

3. Setup Login | Password

In this section, you can change Login and Password to entering in settings. We recommend to change Login and Password for improving Security.

4. Add rooms

This section allow to add, edit, delete, customize name of you rooms. Rooms, created in this item will appear in Pyxis App. Please, do not forget click on “Save” button in the right top.

5. Advanced technologies setup

In this section, you can change and set advanced features. Please, do not forget click on “Save” button in the right top.

a) Homekit – you can change name of Homekit device,change pin for pairing or unbind iOS devices.

 

b) Audio/video control – for set IP control AV devices (Samsung TV, Custom terminal and Blustream matrix).

 

 

c) KNX – this settings allow to set Pyxis for working with KNX devices. If you use KNX in tunneling mode,change only IP address. If you use KNX in multicast mode, you no need to change this settings.

 

d) MQTT – this settings allow to set mqtt driver.

e) Xiaomi – this settings allow to set Xiaomi MiHome.

f) Speech recognizer – this settings allow to set speech recognizer and choose Google Home and Amazon Echo voice control.

Adding the Xiaomi Gateway to Pyxis

 

Android: First, you need to install Mi Home App for Android here

  • Install the App on a Android device
  • Set the region; Mainland China (language can set on English)
  • Connect, using MiHome App, all Xiaomi devices to Gateway.
  • Select your Gateway in Mi Home App
  • Then tap on 3 dots at the top right, push on “About” ==> “Wireless communication protocol”. For getting this menu tap on  “Plug-in version” repeatedly.

  • Enable “Wireles communication protocol”. Then password will appear.

  • Copy this password in the Pyxis interface and save it.
  • Do not change here something! If you change something, you lose your password!

iOS: You first need to enable local network functions by using the iOS Mi Home App

  • Install the App on a iOS device
  • Set your region to: Mainland China and English language
  • Select your Gateway in Mi Home App
  • Tap on 3 dots at the top right of the screen
  • Then click on “About”
  • Tap under “Tutorial” repeatedly. You should see  5 extra options (3 options in Chinese).
  • Choose the second Chinese option

  • You will see password

  • Copy this password in the Pyxis interface
  • Do not change here something! If you change something, you lose your password!

6. Add accessories

In this section, you can add, edit, delete and set accessories for Xiaomi MiHome.

 

For Xiaomi Mi Home you can set:

  • a) lightbulb relay — for any light device,
  • b) lightbulb RGB – for RGB device,
  • c) outlet — for any outlets (relay loads),
  • d) temperature sensor — for indication of temperature,
  • e) humidity sensor — for indication humidity value,
  • f) contact sensor — for indication status of contacts (NO or NC),
  • g) leak sensor — for indication status of leakage,
  • h) motion sensor — for detecting movement,
  • i) smoke sensor — for detecting smoke
  • j) window covering – for control shades,

From Pyxis 5.1.0 you don’t need find SIDs. All devices will be avialable in drop-down menu.

 

From version 5.1.0 added bridge feature for control third-party relays, dimmers  HDL Buspro, KNX, G4 etc, using Xiaomi Wireless switches and buttons.

For getting this feature, add Accessory, name it, choose technology – “Xiaomi” and bind to room.

In new drop-down items “Bridged” and  “Bridged type control”, choose “Yes” and type  – “On/off” or “Dimmer”.

After that, type device address (e.g. HDL Buspro), choose wireless switch in list of devices Xiaomi and choose type of event (rotate, flip 90 degrees, flip 180 degrees, click, double click, both click, left click, right click). Type of event depends of switch, e.g. for Mi Magic Cube Controller available – rotate, flip 90 degrees, flip 180 degrees, click, double click.

 

Please, do not forget click on “Save” button in the right top, after editing.

7. Add scenes

You can create many scenes and use it for control your devices. In this version you can create scenes for lights.

After creating rooms, accessories and scenes, save all changes and restart Pyxis

6. Add accessories

7. Add scenes

You can create many scenes and use it for control your devices. In this version you can create scenes for lights.

After creating rooms, accessories and scenes, save all changes and restart Pyxis

Setup Yeelight device

a) Find in AppStore or in PlayStore Yeelight App.

b) Find and connect  Yeelight device in Yeelight App.

c) Tap on your device and in next menu find white pointer in bottom right.

d) In drop-down menu find LAN control and push it.

 

 

 

 

e) Enable this feature

Now Yeelight device ready for use via Pyxis.

 Pairing with Google Assistant

a) Push on green button “Pair with Google Assistant”. You will see note about starting pairing. Please, make all actions within 15 minutes.

 

b) Open Google Assistant on your Tablet or Smartphone

 

c) Tap on 3 dots at the top right. Then choose in drop down – “Settings”

d) Find “Home control” and tap on it.

 

e) Tap on blue “round plus”.

 

f) In list of vendors, find “Pyxis cloud”

 

 

g) You will be redirect to Authorization page. In Login – fill HWID of your Raspberry Pi, in Password – fill password from “3. Setup Login | Password”  (default – admin)

 

h) Wait while your devices connect to Google Assistant. After finish pairing you will see list of devices. You can rename devices, assign to rooms, create routines.

 

 

i) After pairing with Google Assistant, restart Pyxis

Examples of voice commands
  • “Turn on/off the living room lights”
  • “Dim bedroom lights to 50%”
  • “Change living lights to [color]”
  • “Turn temperature to 72 degrees”
  • “Raise temperature 5 degrees”

If you need to control on “your fingertips”, you can use Google Home App. This App allow to control your devices, create rooms, routines and many other features. Find below example of this App.

 

 

Amazon Alexa setup

Enter in web interface of Pyxis, using IP address or link http://pyxis.local

Choose in section “1 Choose technologies” – Speech recognition, save changes.

 

In section “5 Advanced technologies setup” tap on green button “Pair with Google Assistant or Amazon Echo”.

 

You will see notification about readiness to pair and estimated time.

 

 

After that open Amazon Alexa interface in your browser or start Alexa App. Find in skills section Pyxis skill and enable it.

 

 

You will be redirect to Authorization page. In “Login” – fill HWID of your Raspberry Pi, in “Password” – fill password from “3. Setup Login | Password”  (default – admin) and tap on “Login” button

 

 

After successful authorization, you will get notification about linking with Amazon Alexa.

 

 

Return to web interface for discovering your devices or ask Alexa – “Alexa, find my smarthome devices”.

 

 

When Alexa stop discovering, she will inform about finding devices. In Alexa App and in Web interface you will see discovered devices.

 

 

After all actions, you can use Alexa for voice control, create rooms, routines and use all features.

Amazon Alexa has own App (available not in whole world). Using this App you can control our devices not only by voice. Please find example of App below.
