Overview

 

Thank you for interest to Pyxis 4.0.2 Beta. Pyxis 4.0.2 Beta is fully redesigned version. We had fix “old” bugs, added renewed drivers, new interface, new features (KNX tunneling, Z-wave, Alexa and Google Home support for G4), anti-doubling protection.

In this version added:

  • KNX tunneling support
  • KNX curtain control
  • HDL IR control bug fixed
  • HDL Broadcast channel
  • G4 curtain control
  • Amazon Alexa and Google Home for G4
  • Z-wave (light control (relay and dimmer), LUX sensor, temperature sensor, humidity sensor)
  • Improved Modbus driver

Installation

For download 4.0.2 Beta, please click here. How to write image on microSD, please find here. For beta-test, we recommend to use other microSD card.

Setup configuration

After turning on Raspberry Pi with Pyxis 4.0.2 Beta, please type in web browser http://pyxis.local. You will get renewed web interface. It has same look as a Pyxis App for Android. You can make all same setups in Pyxis App for Android too (Pyxis App): 

 

In the bottom, you will find 4 buttons: Rooms, Types, Scenes, Settings.

For setup configuration, click on Settings button. You will get settings page:

 

First of all, you need to load current settings. Click on green button “1. LOAD SETTINGS”. In case of successful loading, you will get notification in the bottom.

If you will get error in upload, you will get other notification in the bottom:

 

To solve this issue, you need find IP address of Pyxis in Router settings and type it in “IP address to load settings”. Then click on green button “1. LOAD SETTINGS” again.

 

After successfull loading, click on red button “2.SETUP”. You will get Pyxis controller configuration. In the top, you will see buttons: Cancel, Save, Restart, Shutdown and Expand SD. “Expand SD” button is extend usable space of your microSD card.

In the top-right, you will see green pointer. If you click on it, you will get links on Pyxis.cloud social media (website, YouTube channel, Facebook etc).

In new version, we added some important information: license status (licensed or unlicensed), HWID and IP address:

 

In the bottom, you will find red button “UPDATE PYXIS”. Using this button, you can Update Pyxis.

 

Setup menus

1. Choose technologies

Clicking on this item, you will get menu for choosing technologies. Please turn off unused technologies, to get more CPU power. After restart, unused technologies, will be disabled automatically. After choosing, please click on “Save” button in the right top.

In this beta, we added Z-wave support in test mode. Now, it support light (relay and dimmer) and sensors (motion, temperature, light, humidity). We have tested on Aeotec  devices and made Z-wave support on Open-zwave driver.

2.  Setup license mode

In this item, you can add license key and choose technology for free mode. After changing settings, do not forget click on “Save” button in the right top.

 

3. Setup Login | Password

In this item, you can change Login and Password to entering in settings. We recommend to change Login and Password for improving Security.

 

4. Add rooms

This item allow to add, edit, delete, customize name of you rooms and create speech titles for using Amazon Echo and Google Home voice control. Rooms, created in this item will appear in Pyxis App. Please, do not forget click on “Save” button in the right top.

 

5. Advanced technologies setup

In this item you can change set advanced features. Please, do not forget click on “Save” button in the right top.

a) Homekit – you can change name of Homekit device,change pin for pairing or unbind iOS devices.

b) HDL – you can connect to HDL Bus Pro using USB-RS-485 converter.

c) G4 – you can connect to Smart bus using USB-RS-485 converter.

d) Modbus -this settings allow to set Pyxis for working with Modbus devices.

e) Audio/video control – for set IP control AV devices. Now supports Samsung TV and Blustream matrix (test mode)

f) KNX – this settings allow to set Pyxis for working with KNX devices. If you use KNX in tunneling mode,change only IP address. If you use KNX in multicast mode, you no need to change this settings.

 

g) Z-Wave (test mode) – this settings allow to set Pyxis for working with Z-Wave devices.  We made integration, based on Open-zwave driver.

h) Speech recognizer – this settings allow to set speech recognizer and choose Google Home and Amazon Echo voice control.

6. Add scenes

7. Add accessories

In this item you can add, edit, delete and set accessories for chosen technologies. Please, do not forget click on “Save” button in the right top.

 

 

For adding accessory, click on Add accessory in the top. You will get setting page. Fill: name, speech title, choose technology in drop-down menu, add Room, choose order in this Room and choose type of accessory. Type of accessory will depend of chosen technology. For this accessory fill address setting. Please, do not forget click on “Save” button in the right top. If you want to cancel operation, click “Cancel” button in the right top.

 

When you finish all settings, please, Save all settings and Restart Pyxis.

 

Wait for 6-7 minutes. After restarting Pyxis, Load configuration again, and use Pyxis. You can pair your SmartHome devices with Homekit, Amazon Echo and Google Home. Of course you can control devices, using Pyxis App or using any web browser.
